Terms of service
Playing Bleachers means agreeing to these. They are short and they are meant to be read.
This page is a draft written from what the app actually does. A lawyer has not reviewed it yet. It is published so you can see how Bleachers works today, not as legal advice.
Free to play
Bleachers is free. There is no deposit, no buy-in, and no way to put real money on a game. Every bet in the app is made with Points, which the app gives you for nothing and tops up every week.
Points have no value
Points are a play currency. They cannot be bought, sold, traded, exchanged, gifted or cashed out, and they are worth nothing outside the game. They are not property, not credit, not a security and not a stake in anything. They are a way of keeping score.
The owner may adjust, correct or reset Point balances when a bug, a bad line or an abusive pattern calls for it. Nothing you hold in the app is a thing you own.
One account per person
One person, one account. Signups are gated, and running more than one account is grounds for closing all of them and forfeiting their balances. Sharing an account, selling one, or playing through someone else is the same breach.
Bets are final and grading is final
A bet is final the moment you place it. There is no edit and no selling a bet back. New bets on a game close at kickoff.
Bets settle on the official result: the final score for game lines, and the official box score for player props. A result exactly on your number is a push and your stake comes back. A postponed game refunds. A player who does not play voids that bet or leg. Grading decisions by the owner are final.
Lines, prices and boards come from outside feeds. They can be wrong, late or missing. A bet taken on a line that was clearly posted in error may be voided and refunded.
The league creation fee
Starting your own private league costs a one-time 5 dollars. It buys league features and nothing else: your own board, weekly head to head, and a schedule.
It does not buy Points. It does not improve your odds or your payouts. It never goes into a prize pool, and no part of it is paid out to anybody. Joining a league someone else created is free.
The fee is not refundable once the league is created. If the league cannot be created, you are not charged.
Not affiliated with anyone
Bleachers is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the National Football League, any NFL club, any player, any players association, any broadcaster, or any sportsbook. Team names and player names are used to describe real games. Odds are quoted from public market data to make the game realistic, and no betting operator has any part in this app.
18 and over
You must be 18 or older to play. The app asks you to confirm that once and will not take a bet until you do. Confirming when it is not true is grounds for closing the account.
Behavior
The Clubhouse is a shared room. No harassment, no hate, no threats, no spam, and nothing illegal. Automating play, exploiting a bug instead of reporting it, and trading against yourself to move a price are all grounds for closing an account.
The service is provided as is
Bleachers is provided as is and as available, with no warranty of any kind. It can go down, lose a feed, grade late or get something wrong. To the fullest extent the law allows, the owner is not liable for any loss arising from your use of the app, and because nothing in the app has monetary value there is no monetary loss to recover.
Accounts can be closed, seasons can end
The owner may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. You may delete your own account at any time from the You page, and what that removes and what it keeps is spelled out on the privacy page.
The owner may change the game, end a season, reset the boards or shut the service down, at any time and without owing anybody anything. Any prizes for a season are announced separately, and nothing on this page promises one.
Changes to these terms
These terms change when the app changes. The date below is the last time they were checked against it. Playing after a change means accepting the current version.
